Tackling Dental Health in the Long Run February 24, 2010 Mr. Richard D. Coreno (Berea, Ohio USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The boom in dental health is seemingly like the 1980s marketplace for running shoes....there appears to be new products every month that are lining the shelves. But Crest delivers a front-runner with 3D for this marathon race.
The texture is comparable with Pro-Health and is very smooth when brushing. The mint flavor is not overwhelming and - as with these specialty toothpastes - there is a twist in the formula, with Whitebond protection in the mix to tackle surface stains and help prevent that pesky junk from reappearing.
I use 3D daily with several other Crest products and it sets a solid pace for the others to follow.
Looks like it may work February 25, 2010 Altar Boy (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am normally skeptical when it comes to teeth whitening products. I have used other brands and all I got was sore gums from whatever chemicals they put into the product. This Crest product was actually quite gentle. It really bubbles up in your mouth and tastes great. My teeth really feel clean after brushing. I will write more as I get near the end of the tube should my opinion change. I would definitely buy this product.
Smile Bright! February 26, 2010 Barbara K. St John (San Francisco) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This toothpaste really does whiten your teeth. I've seen a difference after only a few days even though its says 14 days. I'm looking forward to seeing what they look like after 2 weeks time.
I like the flavor and texture. Its not runny but not too thick either. Also, I love the flip cap too, No more wayward caps underneath the sink vanity!
Great flavor - great cleaning February 26, 2010 Big Daddy (TN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This toothpaste leaves my teeth feeling closest to a dentist's cleaning. When I first used it, I was a little surprised with the gritty texture. Perhaps that is the patented "micro-cleaning" crystals or the "dual silica" cleaning that Amazon mentions. In any event, that texture goes away after a few moments as the toothpaste creates a nice foam. It leaves your mouth feeling tingly, fresh and clean and makes brushing a rather enjoyable experience.
As for the "whitening", I can tell a slight difference in my teeth, but I don't normally whiten them so the toothpaste would seem to have a very uphill battle. In my view, the whitening is a side benefit - the real benefit is in the great clean feeling.
Want whiter teeth? February 22, 2010 J. Haggard (Nashville, TN) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Crest really is a great brand and this product is another winner. I know there are many different products on the market to whiten your teeth, and I can't say I've used them all, I have not. But I did give this product a try and it does a decent job at what it says. While it is NOT equivalent to having your teeth professionally whitened it does a fair job at making them whiter then they are while reducing stains. In my experience with using this product which I purchased from my local store and not amazon originally it's worked well for me. Now I am not a coffee drinker so I can't say it will help all of you with coffee stains but it does produce semi-noticeable results if you want your teeth just a little brighter. Keep in mind, this is a toothpaste and not a professional whitening kit so don't expect drastic results!
As for the taste, it's very minty which some may think is overpowering and to be honest at times it can be. I assume the heavy mint flavor is used to mask whatever chemical they use to whiten the teeth, this is strictly a guess on my part. That being said, it taste minty not like some heavy duty cleaner that some whiteners taste like.
Overall it's a decent product, it will make your teeth a bit whiter if they are a dull color or have some stains on them. It's not the same results as a professional whitening session with your local dentist, but it does an OK job at the price most people are comfortable paying.
As for sensitivity, I have very sensitive teeth. In fact my enamel on my teeth is very thin from a condition I had growing up. I can say that I had no issues with pain or this making my teeth react in a way that was painful. It really felt like I was brushing my teeth with normal, heavily flavored toothpaste.
