Product Description There is no difference between this model and dental professional model other than this one has the prettier retail packaging. Ultreo is the first power toothbrush to combine patented ultrasound waveguide technology with precisely tuned sonic bristle action. Ultreo's bristles create microbubbles that are powerfully activated by nearly 4 million cycles of ultrasound energy per brushing channeled by a patented ultrasound waveguide.

I'm happy November 10, 2007 A. Chan 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I've been a Sonicare user for a number of years but after mine died a few months ago, I decided to give this a try. At first, I wasn't too happy with the price but since the new Sonicares are actually even MORE expensive, then it didn't bother me as much.
Its not that I was unhappy with my old Sonicare, its just that the Ultreo solves a few things. First, I don't have that mold/gunk buildup on the base of the brush heads (thank goodness cuz it gets a bit gross sometimes). Ultreo is also much gentler on my gums compared to the Sonicare. Not that Sonicare was harsh or anything but some of my friends thought Sonicare was too harsh and thus "tickled".
Also, with the Ultreo, the trick is to use lots of fluid/water when brushing. That made all the difference in the world. And also you can put too much pressure, or else you rub on this rubber waveguide thing and that's annoying. So the the billions of bubbles thing going on, it truely does knock the stainings on the teeth right out. Based on that, I'm gonna assume the bubble thing works.
So I'm quite happy with the brush itself. The pricey brush heads are a bit of a concern, so I guess I'm gonna have to "stretch" out my use on them as much as I can. This bundle does lower the price somewhat. If it was up to me, I'd give these away for x-mas presents but Mr. Bill Gates hasn't replied back yet on my request for him to adopt me so my kids will have to wait a bit.
Anyways, its a really great brush, despite the fact that I had to take out a home equity loan to get it.
Costs less than ONE dental visit. Ultreo will impress you! February 3, 2008 A Research It Maven (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Totally FRESH mouth, sparkling teeth EVERY day! Normally, I lose that "just got my teeth cleaned" mouth in a few days. (Usually before the bill is paid!) No more! With this ultrasonic toothbrush I am dental-fresh every day.
- - - The secret is to wet the brush well, use only a small amount of quality toothpaste, and don't press the brush down hard into your teeth. Pressure ages the brush head and is NOT necessary at all. (Brush tongue too!)
- - - This brush effectively does the cleaning by itself. AND this Ultreo set includes TWO brushheads, which sets me up for a year. Cost at eOralcare, with shipping, is LESS that most others who offer "free" ship.
new brush April 29, 2008 E. Probst (bartlett il) We bought this toothbrush on the recommendation of our dental hygienist, the product delivered everything she said it would. My children are brushing their teeth more, and I am happy with my results also.
Utreo Ultrasound Toothbrush March 14, 2009 Ronald H. Bussey (Anchorage, AK) My wife and I have been using the Ultreo Ultrasound tooth brush for about one year and are very satisfied with this product. Not only do we have whiter teeth, but our dentist has also noticed a significant improvement in our oral health, which is very rare considering our ages; over 60.
A good product September 10, 2008 David St Thomas (Boulder, Co) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I wanted an ultrasonic tooth brush and this was the only game in town that I could find. It is my understanding that ultrasonic waves break up plaque and loosen/disturb the bacteria that cause it. This action will even extend to beneath the gum line and so it gets down into the pockets of tissue surrounding the tooth.
I was leery of the design because the head has so few bristles. This is due to the soft rubbery ultrasonic wave transfer pad located in the middle of the brush.
Never fear, this brush cleans well, with minimum effort.
It's expensive, and the replacement heads cost a fortune.
But it will pay for itself over time by keeping my mouth healthy.
And that's an important thing. As my hygienist put it "The teeth you have today are the best teeth you'll ever have." In other words there's no way to restore tooth health after it's gone.
There are some features I would change - for example the charge indicators are not easy to see without craning your neck down there and looking at it head on. But I have to rate it five stars because it's the only product of its kind that I know of. As such, it's the best.
