| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Relieves painful sensitivity. Keeps breath feeling fresh for hours. Dentist recommended brand. Use Sensodyne Whenever You Normally Brush: It contains Potassium Nitrate clinically proven to reduce painful sensitivity; It provides fast relief within two weeks; It has fluoride for cavity protection; Its formula keeps breath feeling fresh for hours; It has a great tasting mint flavor. No. 1 dentist recommended brand for sensitive teeth. Dentists have been recommending Sensodyne for over 20 years. Brushing twice a day with Sensodyne builds a shield of protection against painful sensitivity. And, since Sensodyne has fluoride, it helps protect against cavities too. This product contains no sugar.

| Customer Reviews: One Man's Experience With Sensodyne October 29, 2008 Zachary Koenig (Fergus Falls, MN) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
A few months ago, I awoke one morning with a very sensitive upper front tooth. Each time a cold substance (even a rush of air) passed over that tooth, it would send a jolt of pain through my mouth.
I was puzzled by this, as I had never had trouble with teeth sensitivity before, but on the advice of my Dad (a dentist) I purchased this product.
After just a few days of rubbing this paste on the sensitive tooth, my problem completely disappeared and I have not had any problems since! I now alternate brushing with this product and a better-tasting paste (the chalky taste is the one downside of Sensodyne) and that system seems to prevent any sensitivity from developing.
Make sure however, that whatever sensitivity-relieving product you purchase (whether Sensodyne or others) contains the active ingredient Potassium Nitrate (5%), which will fill in the areas in the tooth that are exposed to the cold elements.
MUST BUY For Sensitive Teeth Sufferers June 21, 2006 Daniel McKinnon (Tewksbury, MA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having sensitive teeth from being a huge soda drinker as a kid, I cringed at even the sight of chocolate cake and was beginning to experience pain and agony at sugars, colds, hots, basically anything extreme was making me jump out of my shoes, looking for any reprieve that I could find. I tried fluoride gels, Act, brushing and flossing more often, and while all this helped, the thing that really made my life more bearable was Sensodyne toothpaste. Much improved from the formulas that were out 20 years ago, the new flavors are very good and there are many flavors to choose from (back in the day there was only 1). My personal favorite is Cool Gel, but if you suffer from sensitive teeth, any flavor will be perfectly acceptable if it helps your teeth feel better. Sensodyne works by filling nodules in your teeth with fluoride and it can be considered a type of 'patch' for the worn down areas of your mouth. Unlike other 'magic' elixirs out on the market, Sensodyne really DOES work and you'll never know how you lived without it!
Try it now and you WON'T go back!!

Works Well if Given Enough Time to Work Properly March 7, 2010 Frederick S. Goethel (Central Valley, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This toothpaste was recommended to me by my periodontist after I had to have periodontal surgery performed on my upper jaw. Following the surgery, I became extremely sensitive to cold in that quadrant of my mouth. The dentist placed a material at the base of my teeth to calm the pain down, but also recommended that I begin using this toothpaste daily. He also recommended that I stay away from my regular brand of toothpaste since it was abrasive and would cause even more damage to the exposed area where the pain was occurring.
Although it took a few months, I can now drink and eat cold items as if nothing had ever happened. The hook, so to speak, that this needs to be used at every brushing without exception. The active ingredient fills in minute spaces in the tooth, and will continue to fill these holes only if the material is used regularly.
The consistency of this particular product is that of a gel style toothpaste and it has a strong and almost overpowering mint flavor. I tend to use this more in the mornings, when a strong mint flavor will allow for fresh breath.
If you like a strong mint flavor and a gel style paste, you will love this product. It works well and is refreshing.

I have tried all the Sensodyne flavors, and in my opinion, this is the only one that doesn't taste like s*** on a stick.
Of course I cannot find it at any store around me, so here I am at Amazon, buying it in mini-bulk, before they discontinue it. (Husband swears marketing people follow me as I shop, and if I like it, it's doomed).
